After an anonymous maniac begins to warn New Jersey deli owner Ted Abernathy, through emails, text messages, etc., to stop having sex with one his teenage employees, Ted is so shocked he doesn’t know what to do. Who would possibly accuse him of sleeping with the nineteen-year-old college student?
Eventually Ted, who is divorced, becomes extremely frightened, disillusioned. Even after the maniac shows up at his four-year-old daughter’s bedroom window one evening to scare her, the cops don’t do anything, can’t help Ted because they say there’s no evidence.
So what is he supposed to do? How can Ted make the crazy man leave him alone? How can he put a stop to the person who eventually threatens to murder him?
I never slept with that girl, Ted thought. What is this guy talking about? Why won’t he believe me?
