Lancashire’s mayor Richard Delaney is shot to death while watching a musical production starring his wife Sophia. Local police detective Joseph Fletcher and his girlfriend Samantha Degan are sitting close to the victim at the time of the crime.
Unfortunately, the killer escapes and although the list of suspects is long, the alibis are seemingly air-tight. Samantha offers to help Fletch investigate. Soon, the couple are almost empathizing with the killer. The deceased mayor, it seems, was a true scumbag, cheating on his wife with a bevy of young beauties. The deceased mayor also had aspirations of grandeur and didn’t mind who he stepped on to get there. But, Fletch and Samantha are determined to follow the clues and track down the elusive killer––and maybe, Fletch might even get Samantha to accept his marriage proposal.
