Allison Mortenson was not a twin, but she did show up as Al Mortenson on occasion. Raised by her father and brother, Allie did not understand why she could not do all the things boys could do making her childhood reputation less than feminine. She had a newspaper route, played baseball with the boys, ran track in her brothers clothes, among other things.
She went to college and determined to leave when she learned that she could help her father finish his college degree by taking classes for him allowing him to earn his degree without leaving his job. In doing that, she found a love for research taking her in a completely different direction.
After graduation, she moved to Minnesota to live with her father who was offered a different job after he had his graduation certificate. There she met Eli at the fall picnic when she hit the game winning baseball after taunting him as he pitched.
From there, her life was again going in a new direction.
