Lily, stuck wondering if her lover, Ryan, has abandoned her the very night she had told him she was pregnant, finds herself under increasing pressure to maintain her hold on the people of the island she has just seized control of. With threats both internal and external, she may well find her rule to be short and ending in violence.
Ryan, meanwhile, is taken across the highlands of Scotland by his captors to a place where he will face an uncertain future of his own, but may well find some answers to questions he has long held, as well as some unpleasant revelations.
