Crushing It in Retirement

After retiring, I moved to Austin, Texas. I tried new hobbies. I met cool, interesting people. I traveled. I ate tacos. I listened to live music. I dated. A lot. But I wasn’t crushing it. I might have been crumpling it. I definitely compressed it. I kept experimenting and crafting until, four years after retiring (and a move to Atlanta later), I crushed it. What does “crushing it” even mean within the context of retirement? It means living in an atmosphere of adventure and growth, surrounded by people you enjoy, and doing so in good health. Crushing It in Retirement outlines ten components of a vibrant life. There is something in this book for everyone, from people just starting to think about retirement to those who would like to optimize an already good post-work life.
