The history you are about to read is that of a precocious Cherokee girl taken from the pages of the personal journal she kept meticulously from 1820 to 1838. During those years, the young girl you will get to know as Cassie, grows into a woman.She writes of her life, loves and the political milieu that surrounded the turbulent last years of the Cherokee nation in Georgia before their deportation en masse in 1838.All newspaper articles, when quoted, are exact quotes from extant archives with references given.Historical figures and events have been verified.
