Laura was a child, a six-year-old girl.
She had no idea why she’d been taken from her mother, or where she was going.
Her new friend was nice enough, but Laura really missed her home.
Luckily, she was too young to realise exactly what was about to happen.
Her mother was distraught. Being told that you will never see your daughter again is unimaginable. That’s not something you can ever recover from.
This is a novel about two very different men, both caught up in tragic circumstances, for completely different reasons.
Cole is tough, ex-military, forceful and direct. He’s the sort of person that trouble and danger seem to follow.
Hedge is a reluctant hero. Some would say a normal, everyday kind of person. Occasionally anxious and fearful, he’s not used to this type of situation.
It’s going to be an adventure for them both and getting anything close to a good outcome just doesn’t seem very likely.
