Rocambolesco (fantastic, adventure) is a story about a young woman trying to avoid her drunken stepfather until she reaches the age of majority, which at that time was 21. She works in a hotel laundry that she calls home until her best friend asks her to be her maid of honor. For three years she worked seven days a week and when the hotel would not allow her to take time off for the wedding, she gets fired.
Staying with her friend’s family, she exchanges modeling pictures for suitable clothing. When her stepfather starts to ask questions, Carsenetta takes the first job that comes along taking her out of town to avoid losing her wages to the unscrupulous man.
Once more she must flee when the man starts asking questions and harassing the seamstress that provided her wardrobe. This time, she leaves the country and starts yet another adventure.
